Top 10 best gadget of 2010

Top 10 best gadget of 2010 by www.batteryfast.co.uk

We keep a running chart of the best gadget of 2010 that we update continuously – and you can bet we’ll do the same for 2011 too. But with the year up, it’s time to stop the clock and see where we’re at. Read on and we’ll show you the best gadget of 2010 Top 10.

Microsoft Kinect

It’s genuinely hassle free motion gaming, and it is glorious. Stunningly responsive, and already offering brilliant launch titles, this is what Nintendo only wish it could have pulled off four years ago: family gaming. A must have for Christmas.

iPhone 4

Apple’s always relied on the best software, rather than the best hardware, to sell its iPhones, but this year it cranked out the best smartphone for the latter too. An unbelievably sharp screen, solid camera with HD video and editing and a super sexy, super slim frame make it our smartphone of the year.

Google Nexus S

We loved the Samsung Galaxy S, but as we remarked in our review, the thing holding it back wasn’t its hardware (a zippy 1GHz CPU and shockingly beautiful 4-inch Super AMOLED display), but Samsung’s software skin. The Google Nexus S is a very similar phone, but with a guarantee of getting the latest version of Android ASAP for a long time to come. If you don’t want an iPhone, you need this.

HTC Desire HD

If the Google Nexus S is the best phone for Android purists, this is the mass market Android mobile of choice. Its huge 4.3-inch screen is housed in a lavish, thin unibody shell, and HTC genuinely adds value with its Sense software and cloud services. Shame about the battery life though.

Apple iPad

Apple’s tablet is a true trendsetter, and it’s only got better and better over time. It’s still too pricey to justify instead of a laptop, rather than alongside, but believe the hype: it’s an instant on slate with apps galore, that never runs out of battery.

HTC Legend

This was our phone of the year until the iPhone 4 came along, and even now, it’s still the sexiest smartphone ever made. An utterly beautiful aluminium shell houses an AMOLED display and Android, even if the screen is low resolution compared to competitors. Style and substance.

Xbox 360 slim

Microsoft’s new Xbox 360 trims down the size, slashes the noise and throws in Wi-Fi and a Kinect port too. All very welcome improvements which make choosing between it and a PS3 slim an incredibly hard choice, which is as it should be.

iPod touch 4G

The iPod touch 4G gets all the best bits of the iPhone 4, like the incredible screen resolution, FaceTime and HD video recording, and crams them in at a lower price, and in an even thinner case. Unless you’re a lossless audio obsessive, this is the best PMP out there.

Humax HDR-FOX T2

The best of the first wave of Freeview HD PVRs has a huge hard drive, IPTV skills, media streaming thrown in and an easy to use UI. A big brand, with a box that backs up its reputation.

Toshiba Portege R700

Toshiba turned in a surprise laptop late on in the year: this 13.3-inch machine has blazing performance, weighs nothing at all and doesn’t cost the earth. A brilliant MacBook rival.

  • How can I maximize the discharge time of the Dell d620 battery?

The discharge time will vary by different user. It depends on the features you are using in your notebook PC during the time you are using the Dell d620 battery. For example, if you are playing a movie from DVD and you are connected to a wireless network, your battery life will be shorter than normal. If you are just reading or editing a file or answering email on a wired network connection, you will experience maximum Dell d620 battery life. Please note that your maximum discharge time will be shortened as the storage capacity decays.

    Tips for maximizing discharge time:

*Lower the brightness on the display.

*Check the Power Management settings are set to "Max Dell d620 battery ".

*Remove the battery from the notebook PC when it is not being used or charged for a long period

*Purchase another battery to extend the overall operating time on battery.

*Store the battery in a cool dry location.

Will the Dell d620 battery performance degrade over time?

The storage capacity of a notebook PC Dell d620 battery will degrade over time based upon notebook usage. Degradation is a normal condition of all rechargeable Dell d620 laptop battery and is not limited to notebook PCs or other products. If the notebook is used on Dell d620 battery power often, requiring one or more recharges per day, the battery will experience a high degree of degradation and will need to be replaced sooner than a battery that is used occasionally. Also, temperature and humidity impact the storage capacity of a battery for Dell d620 . It is best to store the battery and notebook in a cool dry place.

Under normal operating conditions, a battery can perform well for over a year, but it will hold less of a charge every time it is recharged. The Battery Check utility validates that every battery is operating normally by checking the condition of the cells of the Dell d620 laptop battery. The Health status will change to " Replace " if the cells are not functioning normally.

NOTE: As with all Dell d620 battery, the maximum capacity of this battery will decrease with time or use. Loss of battery capacity will vary depending on the product configuration and usage, including but not limited to: product model, applications running, power management settings, and product features. The battery warranty does not cover natural deterioration of battery capacity. Your battery is only warranted from defects in materials or workmanship resulting in failure, to determine if your battery has had a warranted failure you may be required to run an HP diagnostic.

Precautions when using a Dell d620 battery

    1. Do not modify or disassemble it.

    2. Do not incinerate or expose to excessive heat, which may cause an exposure.

    3. Do not expose it to water or other moist/wet substances.

    4. Avoid piercing, hitting, crushing or any abuse use of the Laptop Battery.

    5. Do not forget to take away your battery from the device if you will not use it for a long time.

    6. Avoid short circuit of the terminals by keeping your Dell d620 battery pack away from metal objects such as necklaces or hairpins.

Dell d620 Laptop Battery Articles & Tips

A new Dell Laptop Battery comes in a discharged condition and must be charged before use (refer to the devices manual for charging instructions). Upon initial use (or after a prolonged storage period) the laptop Dell d620 battery may require three to four charge/discharge cycles before achieving maximum capacity. New Dell Laptop Battery needs to be fully charged and discharged (cycled) a few times before it can condition to full capacity. Rechargeable batteries undergo self-discharging when left unused. Always store a Laptop Battery pack in a fully charged staged for storage. When charging the Dell d620 battery for the first time the device may indicate that charging is complete after just 10 or 15 minutes. This is a normal phenomenon with rechargeable batteries. Remove the laptop batteries from the device, reinsert it and repeat the charging procedure

It is important to condition (fully discharge and then fully charge) the Dell d620 battery every two to three weeks. Failure to do so may significantly shorten the battery's life (this does not apply to Li-ion batteries, which do not require conditioning). To discharge, simply run the device under the battery's power until it shuts down or until you get a low battery warning. Then recharge the battery as instructed in the user's manual. If the battery will not be in use for a month or longer, it is recommended that Dell d620 battery be removed from the device and stored in a cool, dry, clean place.

Invest in a good charger for your laptop. Ni-MH batteries should not be charged in a NiCad charger, unless the charger is specifically made for both chemistries. There are cheap chargers and there are expensive chargers. Make sure the charger you get has good reviews and is well made. Chargers with micro-controller chips are usually the best choice of your laptop.

Be sure to store your Laptop Battery properly. Do not leave your batteries in a hot car, or in humid conditions. The best storage conditions are a cool, dry place. The refrigerator is fine if you stick in a packet of silica gel with your Dell d620 laptop battery in a sealed bag to keep them dry. It is a good idea to charge your NiCad or Ni-MH batteries fully before use if they have been in storage.
