Acer Aspire shows off the 8481 laptop

Acer has been naturally big at the Computex 2011 event in Taiwan, after all this is home ground for the company and therefore it is the ideal place for launching a new TravelMate laptop aimed at the business user market. The Aspire 8481 is a cool looking fourteen inch laptop with chassis that has been sculptured from carbon fibre and a screen housing that is just 4 MM thick making this a very slim laptop for a very demanding marketplace.







The 8481 comes with a 14.1 inch LED back lit LCD wide screen high definition display with 1366 x 768 of resolution pixels and 1.3 MP web camera for easy video conferencing. This laptop is going to be powered by Intel’s latest second generation Core i7 processors that come with support for Hyper Threading and Turbo Boost, this is based on what Intel also call the Sandy Bridge platform!

When it comes to storage Acer, has opted to go with a 320 GB hard drive and up to 4 GB of DDR3 memory, although the inclusion of a super fast 3.0 USB port will allows the quick transfer and storage to an external device. It will be running the Windows 7 Home Premium Operating System which not a big surprise, but when it comes to the battery life, Acer are claiming that it will offer around thirteen hours worth of running power is very interesting indeed, especially for users who spend a lot of time away from the nearest power source!







Unfortunately as per usual, when a new laptop is put on display at an expo, the manufacturer has somehow forgotten to bring the price list with them and when it will become available either. But moving on from that, the Aspire 8481 is a nice laptop, that is strong, light and fully fitted out with the features that buyers want, so long as the price is right!
